According to the charging documents filed in an Isabella County courthouse, the sexual assaults happened for approximately two weeks, between August 16th and August 29th in the woods between Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods in Mt Pleasant.

Thompson and the victim were both living there in tents, but according to the prosecutor, they didn’t know each other very well.

He said they were familiar with each other because they were living in close proximity.

The victim told investigators that Thompson had been forcing himself on her, holding a knife against her throat, sexually assaulting her repeatedly and wouldn’t let her leave.

She was eventually able to get away and report the incidents.

The report said the woman brought troopers back to where the assaults happened, but Thompson and his tent were no longer there.

After more investigation, they said they gathered enough evidence to corroborate her story.

Thompson was later located at a public library bus stop and arrested.
