MANISTEE — The Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Candidate Forum on Sept. 11 at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts.
The forum, which begins with a 6:30 p.m. meet-and-greet followed by a 7 p.m. moderated session, will feature four candidates running for Manistee City Council. District 2 Councilmember Wesley Smith and challenger Linda Gamache-Chick, along with District 6 Councilmember James Grabowski and challenger Mark M. Wittlieff, are scheduled to participate.
Candidates will address issues affecting the business community, including childcare, housing, business retention and attraction, and broader economic development topics. If time allows, the public will have an opportunity to ask additional questions before the forum concludes at approximately 8:30 p.m.
“This is an important opportunity to meet the candidates on the upcoming ballot and learn their positions on the issues that shape our city,” said Carmen Kott. “Manistee needs leaders who will foster lasting, positive growth. We encourage everyone to attend and be part of this meaningful conversation.”
The event is free, open to the public, and requires no RSVP. A recording of the forum will be available online after the event.
