UPDATE: As of 10:15pm Southbound U.S. 131 at Perry Avenue, exit 139 has reopened according to MDOT.
MECOSTA COUNTY — Southbound U.S 131 in Mecosta County is now closed after a deadly crash and fire today.
Deputies said a car crashed near Perry Avenue after it hit the overpass and burst into flames.

The Big Rapids Fire Department put out the fire around 12:07pm and discovered 59-year-old Mark Lewis of Kentwood and his sister, 61-year-old Tamyra Northern of Minnesota and a dog died at the scene.
MDOT has closed the Southbound lanes at Perry Avenue, exit 139, until the overpass is repaired.
At this time the crash remains under investigation.
