PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 50-year-old Fountain man died Monday night in a motorcycle crash on South Lakeshore Drive, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said emergency crews were called at 8:47 p.m. to the scene south of Patterson Road, where the man was pronounced dead.
Investigators said the man was riding south on Lakeshore Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve. His motorcycle left the road, struck several trees and ejected him.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor, and the crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s crash reconstruction team.
Pere Marquette Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, Life EMS and the Mason County Victim Services Unit assisted at the scene.
