SBA to offer ice storm disaster loans in Charlevoix County

EAST JORDAN — The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering help to people still suffering from the impact of the March ice storm.

The SBA and the East Jordan Chamber of Commerce will be holding a disaster loan registration event next week for homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profits in Charlevoix County.

It was just one of the 12 Northern Michigan counties that suffered widespread devastation.

For homeowners, The SBA is offering up to $500,000 from structural damage to your primary residence and up to $100,000 for destroyed personal property, including vehicles.

Qualifying businesses and non-profits can use the loans to pay for economic losses because of power outages, loss of inventory and other items.

The registration event is happening Thursday, July 31 in the conference room of the East Jordan Police Department.
