ANTRIM COUNTY — A Texas man is facing multiple charges after Michigan State Police troopers arrested him during a late-night traffic stop in Mancelona Township.

According to the MSP Gaylord Post, troopers pulled over a vehicle around 11 p.m. July 16 on Mancelona Road near Merrimac Road for a vehicle violation.
The driver, identified as 67-year-old Steven Charles Robin of Alvardo, Texas, showed signs of intoxication and admitted to having weapons in the vehicle.
Robin was given sobriety tests and arrested at the scene. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm handgun between the driver’s seat and center console, a .357 revolver in a portable safe on the floor near the passenger seat, a loaded magazine in the center console and open alcohol containers. Troopers said Robin did not have a concealed pistol license.
He was lodged in the Antrim County Jail and arraigned July 18 in 86th District Court on the following charges:
- Weapons – Carrying Concealed
- Operating While Intoxicated, Third Offense
- Weapons – Carrying Concealed Under the Influence
- Alcohol – Open Container in Vehicle
- Alcohol – Consumption on Highway
Robin’s next court appearance is scheduled for 8 a.m. July 30.
