LEELANAU COUNTY — A medical emergency while driving has left a Northport man dead.
The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office said it happened Sunday morning after 6:00.
Deputies came out to the scene of a crash on south Leelanau Drive and Otto Road, where they found John Norman dead from an apparent medical emergency.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors.
Then, later on Sunday, just before 6:00 p.m., deputies responded to a crash between a truck and a bike.
The scene was at the Tart Trail crossing on South Center Highway.
Leelanau deputies said a pickup pulling a boat trailer was headed north on South Center when a bicyclist, Daniel O’Brien from Trenton, MI, crossed in front of it.
He was taken to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, where he later died.
Details of the crash are still being investigated.
