Hook & Hunting: 2 Michiganders inducted into Michigan Outdoor Hall of Fame

MICHIGAN - Two Michiganders are being inducted into the Michigan Outdoor Hall of Fame.

Al Stewart and Richard Smith will be honored on July 12th.

Stewart is a retired Bird Game Specialist who worked with the Michigan DNR for 50 years and is currently the Director of Nimrod Education Center at Hillsdale College.

Smith is the first inductee from the Upper Peninsula and has been writing about the outdoors for 50 years and has written 32 books, along with producing some wildlife DVDs.

“I’ve always been passionate about the outdoors and especially wildlife, but a clean environment as well,” says inductee Richard Smith. “It’s important to protect our environment. To have the opportunity for future generations to enjoy the outdoors, as i have in many people i’ve written about have done so.”

Stewart and Smith will be honored at the Webber Wildlife Center July 12th at 2pm in Clare.
