Bicyclist found unresponsive in Antrim County

CENTRAL LAKE TOWNSHIP — A 61-year-old man from Hobart, Indiana, died Saturday morning while bicycling in Antrim County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded at 10:25 a.m. June 14 to a report of an unresponsive bicyclist along Bunker Hill Road in Central Lake Township. When they arrived, a passerby was performing CPR on the man.

Life-saving efforts were continued by deputies and Jordan Valley Ambulance personnel, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office said the man had not been involved in a crash or struck by a vehicle. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.

Authorities are withholding the man’s identity pending notification of family.
