Timberly Motel stabbing attack suspect apprehended

GAYLORD — At approximately 2:00 AM this morning, a Seward County Sheriff’s Deputy apprehended Darryl Fisher-Stubbs as a result of a traffic stop.

He was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect is currently lodged in Seward County and is awaiting extradition proceedings to be returned to Otsego County.

GAYLORD — Authorities are searching for a suspect in an attempted murder and home invasion that occurred early Friday morning at the Timberly Motel in Gaylord.

According to a June 13 news release from the Gaylord Police Department, at approximately 1 a.m. officers from the Gaylord Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance at the motel, located at 881 S. Otsego Ave.

Upon arrival, officers found a 34-year-old Gaylord man suffering from injuries believed to have been caused by an edged weapon.

The victim was transported to Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police have identified the suspect as Darryl Damien Fisher-Stubbs, a 36-year-old Black male from the Bahamas.

Investigators said the attack stemmed from an altercation between two individuals who knew each other. Fisher-Stubbs fled the scene immediately after the assault and is considered dangerous and possibly still armed.

The Gaylord Police Department is urging the public to exercise extreme caution. Anyone with information about Fisher-Stubbs’ whereabouts is asked to call the department at (989) 732-1777 or dial 911. Authorities warn the public not to approach the suspect.
