PETOSKEY — Big Water Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization focused on expanding music education in Northern Michigan, has announced the opening of a new Executive Director position.
The part-time, year-round role is a significant milestone for BWCA, reflecting its rapid growth in programming and impact over recent years. The Executive Director will oversee daily operations, support instructors, cultivate partnerships, and ensure the organization’s sustainability.
“This is a flexible, community-focused role ideal for a self-starter who believes in the power of music to bring people together,” said Pete Kehoe, Co-founder and Board President of BWCA.
The position is not a music teaching role but offers a unique opportunity to lead from behind the scenes and shape the future of music education in the region. While nonprofit experience is preferred, BWCA values passion, initiative, and a commitment to community impact.
The new Executive Director will begin in the 2025–26 school year, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Interested individuals can find more details and apply at the BWCA website.
With the introduction of this new role, BWCA aims to further its mission of making music accessible to everyone in Northern Michigan, continuing to build on its success and community impact.
