TRAVERSE CITY — MakerFest 2025 is set for April 26, offering a hands-on celebration of imagination and innovation.
According to an April 23 news release, the library has partnered with RecycleSmart and lined up over 40 vendors with something for every curious person. The event is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 26 at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center at 1213 W Civic Center Dr. in Traverse City.

“This family-friendly event is really for all ages to explore and learn about everything from animals and electronics to rope making and 3D printing and everything in between,” said Andy Schuck, Head of Youth Services. “We’re excited to be partnering again with Recycle Smart, Grand Traverse County Parks and the members of the STEAM/Maker Alliance to bring this event to the community.”
Find all the fun indoors at Howe Arena. Get ready for a special green edition of the event, including as much upcycling, repurposing and recycling as possible — bonus points for traveling green (carpooling, biking, walking or BATA). Hangry’s, the Civic Center snack bar, will be open during MakerFest.
Pick up a Passport card as you enter, and be sure to enter into hourly drawings after you complete six squares. We are giving away a $50 gift card to Oryana as well as a STEM Kit at the top of each hour (11 am, noon, 1-2 p.m.). At the TADL 3D table, there are wildflower seeds to take home that are also worth 3-D printing credits for future projects!
“Thank you to our event sponsor, Oryana Community Co-op, for their donation of gift cards for our hourly prizes, as well as food and beverages for our exhibitors,” the release said.
