Coast Guard to propose regulated navigation area in Ludington

MILWAUKEE – The Ninth Coast Guard District Commander, in conjunction with Captain of the Port Sector Lake Michigan, is proposing to establish a regulated navigation area to control vessel movement in certain waters of Lake Michigan, the Ludington Harbor Channel, and Pere Marquette Lake in Ludington, Michigan.

According to an April 23 news release, comments and related material on this proposed rulemaking must be received by the Coast Guard on or before June 23, 2025.

This action is intended to provide safety of life, environment, and property on these navigable waters due to hazardous conditions resulting from increased vessel traffic congestion.
