TRAVERSE CITY — Blush: Rooftop Terrace at the Alexandria Inn is proud to announce the appointment of Executive Chef Luke Hill, a Michigan native whose culinary journey spans Detroit to Big Sky and now brings him back home to Northern Michigan.

Chef Hill most recently served as Sous Chef at the exclusive Yellowstone Club’s Warren Miller Lodge in Big Sky, Montana, leading a global team in crafting alpine-inspired menus at 7,000 feet. His career includes opening Barda in Detroit—an Argentinian grill and James Beard finalist—and earning acclaim as Executive Chef at The Millbrook Inn in New York, where he turned locally sourced ingredients into award-winning menus.

“Being back in Michigan, especially here in Traverse City, feels like coming full circle,” Hill said. “Blush offers a unique opportunity to create something truly special—where food, view, and experience come together in harmony.”

A passionate outdoorsman, Hill finds inspiration in nature, especially in Keweenaw Bay in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he returns to hunt, fish, and recharge. Between his time as Executive Chef for Aramark at Ford World Headquarters and Barda, he even served as on-set chef for an indie film shot there called ‘Attack of the Flies,’ now streaming on Amazon. Hill’s philosophy blends elevated technique with grounded, seasonal ingredients.

His menus at Blush will aim to reflect Northern Michigan’s agricultural heritage with a focus on local sourcing, intentional hospitality, and thoughtful pairings.
