TRAVERSE CITY — Local youth ballet company, Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre will present a brand-new, full-length classical interpretation of the classic The Sleeping Beauty.

The ballet follows the classic story of Princess Aurora from her Christening all the way to her large wedding celebration. There will also be many familiar storybook characters who appear as special guests.

NMBT’s new production features fresh choreography by artistic director, Thomas Morrell, and Company Manager Marleigh Bucenell based on the original choreography by Marius Petipa in 1890; new handmade costumes by Donna Hood; and newly designed and built set pieces.
