TRAVERSE CITY — National Cherry Queen applications are still open this year with a $10,000 scholarship for the selected queen and $2,000 for the runner-up.
Women between the ages of 19 and 25 are eligible to enter.
The queen is responsible for being the spokesperson of the National Cherry Festival and the cherry industry.
The next queen will also be involved in the 100th year of the festival in 2026.
“It’s great to see these young women continue to do incredible things and move forward in not only their professional speaking, representing the industry, giving presentations, all of that,” says National Cherry Festival Executive Director Kat Paye. “It’s an amazing opportunity. and of course, a great scholarship for college.”
The application deadline is May 5th.
Selection weekend will be in mid-May.
