It’s officially time to fill out those brackets.
March Madness is underway and basketball fans across the country will be tuning in to the action.
Local sports bars like Thirsty Fish Sports Grille in Traverse City are expecting an uptick in business throughout the month. Owner Christina Thompson says supporting local bars by coming out creates a great atmosphere; and a needed boost before tourism season.
“It’s much more fun when you’re out in the atmosphere rather than just sitting at home; gives us a little shot in the arm when it’s slow season,” says Thompson. “It’s just an opportunity for us to have some extra sales, get a little money in the bank so that we can continue through the season until this summer.”
Thompson says the Michigan and Michigan State games bring the biggest crowds.
