Gaylord man arrested for attempted home invasion

OTSEGO COUNTY — Michigan State Police troopers Gaylord Post and Otsego County deputies responded at 3 a.m. on March 15 to a home in Bagley Township to investigate an alleged personal protection order violation.

Troopers say 35-year-old James Dash of Gaylord allegedly drove to the home and knocked on the door.

When there was no answer, he tried kicking down the front door.

Troopers learned Dash fled the scene and saw footprints in the snow leading into the woods.

He was found hiding behind a tree and troopers attempted to place him under arrest.

After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.
