Cherry Capital Airport receives ‘Air Carrier Airport of the Year’ from MDOT

TRAVERSE CITY - A major accolade for the Cherry Capital Airport.

They’ve been awarded the ‘Air Carrier Airport of the Year’ by the Michigan Department of Transportation.

It was given to Cherry Capital for their continued growth in aviation progress for the state. They were also recognized for their air service recruitment and retention, giving them a leg up within the aviation community.

“It’s all about the team,” says Cherry Capital Airport CEO Kevin Klein. “Team TVC and all the hard work that everybody does on a daily basis. We focused on so many projects from air service development, zoning, community projects. And it really is that collaboration amongst the team with all the stakeholders at the airport, finding the balance so everybody can use the airport.”

Klein also says that it’s all about providing safe and secure air travel for the community.
