LAKE LEELANAU — Locals Lake Leelanau, a new full-service restaurant and community center, will open in spring 2025. Located in the former Thunderbird building, it will offer upscale pub-style food with local products, catering, and a retail store.
According to a Feb. 1 announcement from the business’s Facebook Page, the restaurant will provide late-night options and be open seven days a week. A local family is undertaking the project, and it will be situated a few hundred yards from Northern Latitudes Distillery, which is also relocating.
Owner Anthony West said he is excited to get the remodel of the space started and kicked off the process this month.

“Northern Latitudes Distillery has brought such amazing spirits, products, and local love to our village and their journey is just getting cooler as they are moving just a few hundred yards up the road into their brand new facility opening this spring as well— so cool!,” West said. “Can’t wait to collaborate with them and see that beautiful Still in its new spot. Full remodel and plan initiated (on Feb. 1), but first and most important, our family will spend some time in prayer and being together in the building talking about God’s blessings in this journey of life. So, so grateful for this opportunity and doing it with my wife and kiddos.”
Locals Lake Leelanau plans to offer upscale pub-style food with local products.
The restaurant will include a merch and retail store, catering services, and delivery to docks in the Narrows for boaters. It will also offer late-night options for customers.
