The movie will be hosted at the state theatre with resources and discussion before the movie ‘The Hate You Give.’

The movie will be related to the topic of gun violence, the students demand action group is a nationwide advocacy group run by high school and college students. They are working towards a future with no gun violence.

Stanifer, tells us why the students wanted to host a movie showing.

“They feel like they have a bigger impact when the message is coming directly from them, the youth, you know, gun violence is the leading cause of death in Michigan and the United States. And so, when, you know, sometimes they don’t have a feel like they have a voice, this is a way to project that voice,” explains Molly Stanifer Liaison Student’s Demand Action Group.

The event is at the state theatre in Downtown Traverse City, Thursday February 13th at 5:30 p.m. Beginning with a discussion, and the movie at 6:30. To get tickets click here.
