TRAVERSE CITY - The Traverse City Police Department is looking to partner with the community. The voluntary private security camera partnership program allows residents and business owners to register their security cameras to TCPD.
If there is crime in the area and they are searching for video footage TCPD knows to reach out to you for video surveillance. The Traverse City Police Department wants to emphasize that signing up for the program does not give them twenty-four -seven access to your cameras.
“This simply gives us the information is who has cameras and who’s willing to help the police department, during their investigations.,” explains Chief Matt Richmond, Traverse City Police Department, “So, we would still come to you, whether by phone or we’d come to your house and say, hey, this is what happened last night in the neighborhood. We know you have cameras. You’re willing to help.”
You can sign up and cancel your involvement at any time through the Traverse City Police Department website. Click here to sign up.
