Spaghetti fundraiser helps support kids' burn camp this weekend in Northern Michigan

A fundraiser to support a kids burn camp in Onaway is set to take place this weekend.

The 211 Bar & Grill holds an annual spaghetti fundraiser every year to raise money for the Great Lakes Winter Burn Camp.

The fundraiser will happen Sunday, February 9th, from noon to 5 pm and includes a Chinese raffle, silent auction, and 50/50 drawings.

The winter burn camp will be held at the UAW Black Lake Conference Center February 14th through the 17th.

211 Bar & Grill co-owner Jeremy Pasella said the camp is a special place for children who have suffered burns to be a kid with others who have had to endure that same experience.

He said the winter camp and the fundraiser is a community affair for Onaway and Northern Michigan.

“We have Detroit Lions tickets, Tigers tickets, furniture. every restaurant, gas station. And this is across northern Michigan that reaches out even to us knowing that we’re going to do it. So, it’s amazing how much stuff is donated. There’s too much to even announce,” said Pasella.

The camp is free of charge for the kids. Last year, they raised $22,000 in just hours.
