ANTRIM COUNTY - A Kalkaska man who police have been searching for since July has been found and arrested.
Last July, police say Cody Hockridge crashed a car into a semi-truck on US-131 and Twin Lake road in Kalkaska. His passenger, Timothy Alberts, was killed in the crash.
Hockridge was on the run ever since and was recently caught and arrested by deputies from The Antrim County Sheriff’s Office. He was found at a home in Mancelona, hidden underneath the floor.
The Antrim County Sheriff’s Office K-9, Lieutenant Bricko found Hockridge. The homeowner Derek Ray was also arrested and accused of harboring a fugitive. Antrim County Sheriff Kevin Hoch emphasizes the importance of eye witnesses.
“The best thing to do is get a correct location, a very good description of any type of vehicle, any person, clothing…. if you make contact or know the whereabouts of any type of individual that law enforcement is looking for. Do not address them. don’t go up to them. just be a fantastic witness for us.”
Hockridge will be arraigned tomorrow in the Antrim County 86th District Court and Derek Ray will be arraigned right afterward.
