The Midland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-car crash that took the life of a 17-year-old Midland County girl.
The crash occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at approximately 6:42am on East Isabella Road in Homer Township.
Deputies said the teen was driving a 2014 Chevy Sonic on Thursday morning, Jan. 23, headed east on East Isabella Road. They said she lost control on the snowy/icy road, crossed the centerline and hit a 2021 Chevy Silverado headed west.
The 17-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The Midland man driving the Silverado sustained minor injuries but refused transportation to the hospital.
Road conditions and speed are considered the main factors in this crash. Toxicology results are pending, but deputies said there is no evidence to indicate drugs or alcohol were factors.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police Accident Investigation Team, Homer Township Fire Department, Lee Township Fire Department and MyMichigan EMS.
