GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY - Michigan State Police said Wednesday, Jan. 22, that a Beulah man who is a deputy in Manistee County has been charged with child abuse and domestic violence.
In October 2024, the Michigan State Police Traverse City Post was asked to investigate an alleged domestic assault that took place in August 2024 at the Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds in Blair Township, troopers said.
The suspect, 34-year-old Dillon Haywood Rosa from Beulah, who has been with the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office since January 2022, allegedly had an argument with a family member, grabbed them by the wrist and pushed them down into a chair, troopers said.

The parties involved and witnesses were interviewed, and a report was turned over to the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s Office. An arrest warrant was authorized on Jan. 7, 2025.
Troopers notified Rosa of the warrant, and he turned himself in that day at the Grand Traverse County Jail, troopers said.
Rosa was arraigned Jan. 22 in the 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County on one count of child abuse fourth degree, and one count of domestic violence. His next scheduled court appearance is Feb. 13.
