CLARE COUNTY - On Friday, Jan. 17 at 10:04 a.m., Clare County Central Dispatch received a call from the Veterans Crisis Hotline reporting a male had contacted them and made threatening statements toward the Clare VA Clinic.

Deputies with the Clare County Sheriff Office were made aware of the threats and were able to contact the Veterans Crisis Line, they said. Deputies then were able to identify the caller as 70-year-old Robert Hubble from Lake George, officials said.

It was reported that Hubble had made several phone calls to the crisis line, deputies said. During one of these phone calls, Hubble threatened to go to the Clare VA Clinic and shoot the place up if he was not seen on this date, deputies said.

As part of the investigation, a search warrant was conducted at Hubble’s residence, which resulted in the seizure of a number of firearms, deputies said.
