Traverse City State Theatre expected to be back in operation after technical difficulties with server

TRAVERSE CITY - The State Theatre in downtown Traverse City took an intermission while it worked out some technical difficulties.

Because of those issues, the theater canceled six shows over the past week because of what they originally said were issues with the projector.

Traverse City Film Festival executive director Angie Forton confirmed the issues were actually problems with the server.

The State Theatre has been run by the Traverse City Film Festival for six years, and they want people to know they are still running strong, and with old age comes a few problems.

“We’ve had some equipment issues. ... So it’s indicative of older equipment. It is something that, you know, as technology ages, it’s something that happens. If you look at our Northern Michigan counterparts, they also have had gear failure. They’ve had upgrades. And so that is something that we are looking at as well,” says Forton.

The State Theatre said their techs did a great job, and they are looking forward to being back in operation Tuesday.
