Flint man charged in May overdose death of Antrim Co. woman

ANRIM COUNTY - On Dec. 17, Edvonte Demarr Callaway, 32, of Flint was arraigned in Antrim County’s 86th District Court on murder and substance charges, the sheriff’s department said Monday, Dec. 23.

Callway has been charged with second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance that caused death, the sheriff’s office said.

The charges stem from the overdose death of a 55-year-old Echo Township woman on May 9, 2024, officials said. The case was investigated by the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office and the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office.

Callaway is currently in Charlevoix County Jail on other charges, officials said.
