Healthy holiday gingerbread cookie recipe

with Carol Bell from Table Health

When it comes to the holidays nothing says winter like spicy sweet gingerbread cookie. Originating in 992 A.D. gingerbread a long history in the culinary world and has become synonymous with festive gatherings and is a favorite of a certain jolly old elf that will pay us a visit come Christmas Eve.

But many stay away from the sweet treat but not because they do not enjoy it, but because gingerbread cookies are often made with lots of butter and eggs which can significantly increase cholesterol levels and add extra calories at a time when holiday feasts are plentiful.
