For many of us, the public library holds a special place in our hearts. It was where we went before the internet to do our homework, spend time afterschool, and sometimes even learn how to read. But these fond memories that we may have of books and magazine, well, its a bit out dated. That is because libraries today are so much more than books. With everything from board games, to learning aids, to story-time and computers your public library welcomes everyone within the community and caters to all.
Because of their invaluable role within our communities, it is high time for libraries to step into the spotlight to create wonderful memories for a new generation. That is why today launches our new series “Love your Library” which will explore these amazing facilities all over Northern Michigan.
To get in the holiday spirit, I paid a visit to the Wexford Public Library Cadillac branch to chat with their director about not just the plentiful events and activities they have planned for December but why libraries are so important and how they have evolved to stay relevant in this digital age.
