On Saturday, Nov. 30, at 1:41 p.m., Clare County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a subject reporting a stabbing.
The 911 caller was traveling on Harrison Avenue when she was flagged down by a 68-year-old Harrison woman. The victim said she had been stabbed by her 25-year-old grandson, Jacob Dunham, several times.
Deputies responded to the scene where they met with the victim who had suffered multiple punctures on her back from a knife. Deputies rendered aid to the victim before treatment was taken over on scene by the Mobile Medical Response Ambulance Service. She was transported to the Midland Hospital.
Deputies learned the victim and Dunham had been in an argument just prior to the stabbing. They said Dunham became upset and began throwing items at the victim, as well has hitting her with a closed fist in her face and on her head.
As the victim attempted to flee the residence, deputies said Dunham got a kitchen knife and told the victim he was going to kill her, before stabbing her in the back several times.
Dunham was taken into custody by the Clare County Sheriff’s Office. He was lodged in the Clare County Jail on the charged of assault with the intent to murder.
Dunham was arraigned on this charge in the 80th District Court on Sunday, Dec. 1. His bond was set at $1,000,000 cash or surety.
Dunham had been reported to have been consuming alcohol prior to this incident. The victim is in stable condition at the Midland Hospital.
