TRAVERSE CITY — Christmas is right around the corner and one Northern Michigan business is doing their part to ensure families in need get gifts under their trees.
‘Project Feed the Kids’ out of J&S Hamburg in Traverse City is holding their ‘Adopt a Family Program,’ in partnership with Toys for Tots. Games, toys, clothing, gift cards or monetary donations will be accepted to bring a little more warmth to households this season.
Founder Tiffany Mcqueer said last year they adopted 730 families and gave out over 25,000 gifts.
“It means so much to our family. We have done this for so many years, and it’s really – it’s Christmas morning for us when we get videos back from the families of kids opening up presents and thank you letters, and just the amount of people that are just so thankful and grateful for the program. That’s what makes it for us,” said McQueer.
You can drop off donations to their trailer outside J&S Hamburg on South Airport Road. Donations will be accepted until Christmas. Click here to apply to ‘Adopt-a-Family’ or click here for more information on how to donate.
