Inmate recaptured after escaping from Mason Co. deputy during transport

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, a Mason County Sheriff’s deputy was transporting a breaking and entering suspect from the Mason County Jail to the courthouse.

Around 2:20 p.m. as the inmate was being taken from the patrol car in the courthouse parking lot, the deputy said the inmate took off.

Despite “handcuffs and belly chains” in place, the inmate was able to run southeast from the courthouse.
