Missaukee County Prosecutor David Den Houten said Wednesday that Allen Wisely pleaded no contest to malicious use of a telecommunications service after threatening to kill president-elect Donald Trump.

Lake City man Allen Wisely is accused of calling 9&10 News several times on Oct. 24, threatening to shoot Trump.

The Missaukee County Prosecutor, David Den Houten, said that Wisely is facing two felonies and a misdemeanor, for making a false report or threat of terrorism, using a computer to commit a crime, and malicious use of a telecommunications service.

Den Houten said although Wisely could face about 40 years in prison, he said the prosecutor’s office is recommending 12 to 20 months for the alleged crimes.

He said after talking with Michigan State Police and the Secret Service, they don’t believe Wisely had the ability to follow through with those threats.

Den Houten said Wisely did not own any weapons, nor did he make any plans to kill Trump and said Wisely is believed to have been under the influence at the time he made the threats.

Wisely’s preliminary hearing is set for this Thursday at 1:30. He is currently in custody, being held on a $250,000 bond.
