In April 2024, Michigan State Police at the Gaylord Post were asked to investigate services charged by a privately contracted IT company.

The company who had hired the IT service said they only received one out of three servers they paid for. They were also concerned about other invoices they paid between 2018 and 2021.

MSP identified the owner as 63-year-old Arthur Joseph Ross III from Rogers City. The investigation led to an arrest warrant, and Ross turned himself in on Oct. 21.

He was charged with one count False Pretenses $20,000 or more but less than $50,000, and one count Larceny less than $20,000.
