TRAVERSE CITY — Democratic Vice Presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is expected to be in Traverse City for a campaign stop from 4-9 p.m. Friday.
The visit will come just four days before the presidential election. The stop was confirmed Tuesday by the Grand Traverse County Democratic Party.
It comes on the heels of a campaign event by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Gwen Walz on Monday and a rally by former President Donald Trump last Friday.
Also, it was reported Wednesday that former President Bill Clinton will be in western Michigan later this week to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Grand Traverse County Democrat Chair Chris Cracchiolo says this shows the growth of the region. “Just from an economic perspective it brings more attention to Traverse City”, says Cracchiolo. “As far as a political standpoint I think it shows there are Democrats in northern Michigan. We’ve seen the crowds that these candidates draw and I think things are changing here.”
The Harris-Walz campaign has not yet released a location or instructions for the Walz event. 9&10 News will update you on the event details as soon as they become available.
