Crafting with the Katies: Making some ghostly wall art with macrame!

Happy Halloween!

The Katies have a spooky DIY perfect for the season: ghost macrame wall art. You only need a few items to make this adorably ghostly piece!

For this project, you’ll need:

  • A spool of white macrame
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue
  • Round cake board
  • Black felt

Step one: Take your round cake board and cut it in half.

Step two: Start cutting your macrame into strips. We started cutting ours around 11-12″ long, but we made them longer as we built our ghost.

Step three: Take one strip and fold it in half. Glue that to the center of your cake board. Continue gluing your strips around the original center piece. This should start making a rounded ghost.

Step four: Once you’re happy with how your ghost looks, cut off any excess cake board on the side of your ghost.

Step five: Cut out some eyes and a mouth with your black felt and glue on to your ghost.

Step six: Cut one more strip of macrame and make a loop shape. Glue that to the back of your ghost, so you can hang your spooky creation!
