CADILLAC — After buying an old industrial site, the City of Cadillac has started the process of removing the blighted buildings and structures.
The project at the former Western Concrete site was made possible by a $572,000 grant from the State Land Bank Authority. Cadillac City Manager Marcus Peccia said clearing the site will provide new development opportunities.
“We believe that this site would be perfect for industrial redevelopment purposes,” said Peccia. But, he added, “we are immediately adjacent to residential neighborhood. It’s certainly possible that there could be some form of of residential use here as well.”
The City hopes to have the site cleared and ready for a developer by the end of this year.
