This season’s program will award $12,000 to aid in developing and promoting high school football in the state of Michigan, thanks to contributions from the Detroit Lions and the NFL Foundation.

Maloney led the Ramblers to the playoffs in 8 of his 9 full seasons, reaching the regional finals in 2015 and 2023.

In a Head Coach Hangout interview with Executive Director of Football Education with Lions Football Chris Fritzsching, Maloney learned of the recognition and discussed the week three victory over Beal City, the importance of community service to the McBain student-athletes and community and what McBain means to him.

“It’s beautiful, we’ve got farm country,” Maloney said. “Sunrise to sunset, it’s a beautiful place to grow up and to live. We have a great community in which our team is made up of a band of brothers who have grown up with each other from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our community is phenomenal, and we were able to pass a bond that got us a new scoreboard, a new track and things that support us. That type of community where families are strong, it makes our school strong and we have a strong administrative team all the way through to our custodians.”
