Isabella County looking to hire after 2 high-profile resignations

ISABELLA COUNTY — Following a pair of county administration resignations, Isabella County is working quickly to fill the two high-ranking positions.

Administrator Nicole Frost and emergency management director Marc Griffis recently announced their resignations.

This comes after a period of controversy and budget concerns, especially an issue surrounding a shortfall for the county sheriff’s office.

Officials said a new emergency manager has already been selected and should be ready to begin soon after Griffis’ last day — Sept. 30.

But Frost’s position has not yet been filled. Her last day on the job will be Jan. 1. The county said they have a plan to find a qualified candidate and are getting ready to take applications.

“I’ve already named a hiring committee, someone from administration, and probably our benefits director will also sit in on that,” said board of commissioners Tobin Hope. “They’re already reviewing questions. Once they get the applications, they will take the ones that meet the minimum qualifications and see who they want to interview and go from there.”

If you are interested in applying for the available administration position, the deadline to apply is Oct. 4.
