When Cameron Newkirk started his journey to compete in the Celtic Games, there were a lot of factors involved. How do you train for this competition? Will he be able to balance workouts with his day job? Does he have what it takes to go pro? But Cameron didn’t let any of these questions stop or slow him down and recently in Minnesota, his hard work paid off when he became the amateur world champion.

Speaking with Cameron, you wouldn’t know that he performs at such a high level as he is a humble Michigander that is just happy to be taking part and representing Michigan. If you would like to support Cameron and watch him in action head to the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly, Michigan, Sept. 14-15.
