Mother in King’s Court Mobile Home Park is taking action to make sure the neighborhood kids stay safe

TRAVERSE CITY - Law enforcement says an 8-year-old boy died at Munson Medical Center after being hit by a truck in the King’s Court Mobile Home Park just outside Traverse City. Now, a mom in the neighborhood is taking action to make sure the rest of the kids in the community stay safe.

“I was in tears. I had this horrible pit in my stomach. I was sick for a few hours, with it being so close to home, it for some reason hit different,” says Tiffani Osborne.

She took to Facebook after a Tuesday’s accident. Asking parents to help ensure that students are getting on the bus safely at both stops in the neighborhood.

“My kids don’t use the bus now, but all the other kids in this park are just as important. Their safety matters just as much as the safety of my own kids So it might not be my kids at this bus stop, but these are all the kids that my kids care about. And you know, they all play together,” she said.

She is hoping that through this situation everybody comes together to support the grieving family.

“We’ve started a meal train since yesterday. We’ve got almost a week out in the meal train. So I just think it’s more important to focus on healing and moving forward rather than trying to just talk about what happened,” she said.

She plans to continue to be at the bus stop and is welcoming other parents to join in.

“There’s a lot of, you know, placing blame and trying to speculate, and none of that’s helpful. The best thing that you can do for these types of things is to, you know, spread awareness, spread love,” she said.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating the cause of the crash.

The family has posted a GoFundMe to help pay for funeral services, click the link here if you wish to donate.
