WEXFORD COUNTY — A Luther woman charged as an accessory to the murder and burial of a man in Wexford County has been sentenced after taking a plea deal.

The Wexford County prosecutor said 18-year-old Katelyn Hendricks agreed to plead guilty to failure to report the discovery of a dead body, which is a misdemeanor. She was given a one-year delayed sentence and a $125 fine. She was also sentenced to 100 days in jail with a 100 days credit.

She was originally charged with accessory after the fact for the murder as well as concealing death.

As part of the deal, Hendricks must testify against Michael Hayes, who’s accused of killing and burying Michael Hague in Hague’s backyard. He’s facing several charges including first-degree murder, felony firearm, mutilation of a dead body and removal of a body.

Hayes’ case will go to trial. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
