On Tuesday, Aug. 27 around 8:15 p.m., Michigan State Police troopers and Otsego County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home in Elmira Township for a fight involving gunfire.
MSP said troopers entered the home and found a 57-year-old man who was shot and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies found the suspect, 25-year-old Kyle Karsten, near a pole barn and took him into custody. He was arraigned Wednesday on one count of murder.
MSP said the investigation is ongoing.
