Munson Healthcare to open 2 surgical outpatient centers in Northern Michigan

CADILLAC — More outpatient care options are coming to two Northern Michigan communities.

Munson Healthcare announced new outpatient surgery centers in Cadillac and Gaylord.

Peter Marinoff, president of Cadillac Hospital and Munson HealthCare’s south region, said site activity has already begun in Cadillac. Marinoff said the outpatient surgery centers are part of Munson’s transformation plan.

Marinoff said they were very intentional with the locations they chose, with easy access to nearby highways.

“If you’re coming in for an outpatient surgery and you don’t need to stay overnight, this will be an option where you can access surgery immediately right there. And it just the center specializes on surgery. So, you’re actually not going through a hospital. You’re going through a surgery center,” said Marinoff.

Both centers will be similar to the Copper Ridge Surgery Center in Traverse City, working jointly with local surgeons.

The centers are slated to open next year.
