Avelo is the only airline to offer nonstop flights between the two, connecting travelers to Connecticut’s Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN). One-way fares start as low as $77 and will be available on Saturdays.

“It’s another nonstop route. So it’s our 20th nonstop route. And when you’re building nonstop routes with, low cost carriers, that really drives our overall airfare down. And so having a new carrier in creates options. It creates, ability to get to the East Coast, which is very popular for our and then is also for our overall market driving down airfares, which is great for our customers,” said Kevin Klein, CEO.

Avelo customers traveling between the traverse city airport and the tweed-new haven airport will be treated tomorrow with traverse city’s famous cherry pies and a water cannon salute for the first day of the new route.

TRAVERSE CITY — Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) continues to add to their list of nonstop flights out of Traverse City.

Starting June 15, Avelo Airlines and TVC will provide travelers with nonstop trips to New Haven, Connecticut. Flights will take off every Saturday, with tickets as low as $62 one way.

Avelo said they feel it’s important to bring major airline services to smaller communities.

“As someone who’s used to traveling to smaller airports, you’re getting on a little, tiny airplane, going somewhere else, waiting two hours and then getting to your destination. This is a game changer,” said Courtney Goff, Avelo Airlines communications manager.

You can book your flight on the Cherry Capital Airport website or through Avelo.
