BLIZZARD WARNING:
For Luce, Western & Central Chippewa, Mackinac counties in effect until 8 am Tuesday.
Total snow accumulations will be between 18-34″. Winds could gust as high as 60mph, creating significant blowing and drifting snow. Do not be out in these conditions!
For Emmet county until 8 pm Monday.
Additional snow totals will be around 9-12″ on top of what you have already seen. Not to mention, wind gusts will be near 50mph.
For Leelanau county until 8 pm Monday.
Additional snow and sleet will add another 8-11″ of snow on top of what you have already seen. Wind gusts will also be around 50mph.
For Southeastern Chippewa counties, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc Island/Beaver Island in effect unitl 8 am Tuesday.
Additional snow totals will be around 10-15″. Winds will also gust upwards of 50-60 mph.
For Cheboygan and Charlevoix counties until 8 pm Monday.
Additional snow totals will be around 4-12″ on top of what you have already seen. Winds will be gusting near 45-50mph.
WINTER STORM WARNING:
For Grand Traverse, Antrim, Otsego & Presque Isle counties until 8 pm Monday.
Additional snow and sleet accumulations up to 6″ with isolated higher amounts. Ice could also accumulate to .1″ in these areas. Winds will also be gusting upwards of 45mph.
ICE STORM WARNING:
For Wexford, Roscommon, Missaukee, Alcona, Oscoda, Alpena, Charlevoix, Montmorency, Leelanau, Kalkaska, and Crawford counties until 8 am Monday.
Additional snow and sleet of 2″ or so will be possible and ice accumulations will be around .25″ to .5″ with isolated higher amounts. Winds will continue to gust near 40-50mph.
Winter Weather Advisory:
For Benzie, Manistee counties until 8 am Monday.
Additional snow and sleet accumulations of 1-2″ with up to a quarter of an inch ice accumulation. Winds will continue to be gusting upwards of 40-50mph.
For Roscommon and Ogemaw counties until 8 am Monday.
Ice accumulations could be around .25″ with winds around 35-40mph.
For Mason, Lake, Oceana & Newaygo counties from 8 am Monday until 11 am Tuesday.
2-5″ of snow will be possible with winds gusting upwards of 50-60mph.
This Weekend: A Messy System
Phase 3: Gusty Winds, Falling Temperatures and Lake Effect Snow
Sunday night and Monday brings the backside of the low.
This will give us wind gusts nearing 50-60mph.
It will also provide another surge of snow.
Visibilities will be near 0 and blowing and drifting snow will be a huge problem.
Things should start to calm down late Monday and into Tuesday morning.
Next Week: Colder
Some lake effect snow showers on Tuesday morning for St. Patrick’s Day, but skies will be brighter in the afternoon and evening.
Highs will be in the low teens to low 20s.
Wednesday is looking for some scattered snow throughout the day.
Highs will be in the mid 20s to low 30s.
Thursday is looking warmer with a chance for some mixed showers.
Highs will be in the mid 30s to mid 40s.
