Winter Storm Watch:

For Luce county. From Sunday afternoon until Monday Evening.

Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6″+ likely. Greatest accumulations across the northern half of the county.

Winds could gust as high as 45 mph, strongest near Lake Superior.

Similar impacts likely for portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan.


Tonight: Spotty U.P.

Skies are cloudy heading into tonight.

In the U.P., you might see a flurry or two develop.

Lows in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Winds from the SE at 5-15 mph.

Sunday: Another Messy System

Starting to see widespread rain in the Lower Peninsula.

Those in the U.P., will see more snow/mixed precip.

Temperatures Sunday will officially reach back into the 30s to even a few low 40s.

Then will start to fall throughout the afternoon and evening.

This will eventually change over any precipitation to snow by Sunday later evening.

Winds with this system will be gusty later Sunday into Monday.

Colder air will also kick back up lake effect snow chances late Sunday into Monday.

Early Next Week: Colder, Windy, More Lake Effect Snow

Still trending colder and windy with more scattered lake effect snow Monday.

Highs Monday from the low 20s to low 30s.

Still some isolated lake effect snow Tuesday but, not as windy.

Highs Tuesday from the upper teens to upper 20s.

Lake effect snow chances will be likely throughout New Year’s to round out the week.

We likely will be looking at several of inches possible. Especially for the snowbelts.

Wednesday is looking more snowier for now, with more isolated showers on Thursday.

Highs for NYE and New Year’s Day will only feature teens and 20s.

Overnight temperatures are in the single digits mid-late week.

So bundle up for an outdoor festivities.
