After decades of helping solve crimes across northern Michigan, the director of the State Police Forensic Lab in Grayling has called it a career. · Connie Swander began working at the lab back in 1985 and has been its director for the 17 ½ years. A lot has changed in her time in the lab, especially the technology, from fingerprinting databases and the use of DNA. Both are now considered every day crime fighting tools.
