WATCH: Traverse City Curling Club launches community events centered around Winter Olympics

TRAVERSE CITY - The Traverse City Curling Club is launching a series of community events next week, including open houses and watch parties, as it celebrates its growth from a small family group into a world-class facility. The non-profit organization will also begin offering classes and open ice time starting Feb. 7.

Founded in 2014 as a small gathering at Centre Ice Arena, the club has expanded into a professional venue that has hosted national championship events. The facility attracts both Olympic athletes and local beginners, maintaining a focus on sport accessibility for the Traverse City community.

The club also emphasizes inclusivity by offering different methods for delivery to accommodate various physical abilities. Participants who cannot use a traditional crouched position can use a curling stick to deliver the rocks. This equipment allows wheelchair curlers and able-bodied participants to play together in the same matches.

The full schedule of events can be found here.
